Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Ocoee East by IHG

Our room was 238 on 6/4, and the room attendant was very sweet and did an excellent job. Lopez at the front desk also gave excellent customer service and was always smiling. The place seems renovated, and it’s the best Holiday Inn Express. The beds and pillows are consistently comfortable, and rooms have a medium-sized fridge and a small sink. Breakfast was excellent too. We’ll be back soon.

The price was affordable, and the front desk staff were kind and competent. The location was so-so, and parking gets tight during the week. You need to check out a luggage cart using your ID. I was in the room above the lobby and could hear the annoying lobby music. One day they didn’t clean my room even though I hadn’t put up the do not disturb sign, and the cleaning on the other day was mediocre. I’d forgotten my flippies and had to walk barefoot, which showed me how dirty the floor was. There’s no coffee machine in the room, and the freezer wouldn’t properly freeze my reusable ice packs.

I arrived very late, exhausted after a five-hour drive, and Rodrigo at the front desk made me feel welcome and looked after. He was such a gentleman, kind and generous in a way that felt one of a kind. The service here has been amazing, and I’m really looking forward to coming back.

Construction outside was a surprise, and we must have driven past it a few times before arriving. In the first room there were a few minor issues we could live with, until we noticed a glossy patch of blood on the wall. They moved us to what they called a “better and cleaner room,” but there wasn’t really anything better about it. The bed was the same size, and the extra room was unnecessary. There was coffee on the wall, a big clump of hair on it, and an empty two-liter bottle of alcohol that we didn’t photograph. Breakfast was okay at best. The cinnamon rolls were hard and didn’t taste fresh, though it was good to have options. Hotel staff kept watching while we got food. The one thing I’ll praise is the coffee, which was really good for a hotel. I’d pay for it. I’ll never come back.
