I usually don't leave bad reviews, since problems can often be sorted out through the front desk, a booking app, or customer support. My wife and I had prepaid $211.52 through Hotels.com/Expedia.com for two nights at the Maitland, Orlando location. When we arrived around 6:30pm, we waited nearly an hour for someone to come to the desk, and tried calling the "500" number on their landline five times without an answer. A gentleman eventually came and started check-in. After I paid a $100 deposit, we mentioned our dog and were told there was a $200 initial pet fee, then $5 a day after five days, plus a $200 cleaning fee. We decided not to stay because the total for two nights would be $611.52, and tried to cancel right there. The third-party listing had only shown the $5 daily pet fee, so the fees weren't represented accurately. The front desk said they couldn't refund us and that I had to contact Hotels.com. I called right away and spent almost two hours with an agent waiting for the property to cancel and refund us. Hotels.com then asked us to wait 72 hours while they tried to reach the property. After that time, they still couldn't reach the manager, and said nobody was answering. We were out the $211.52 and had to find somewhere else at the last minute. The fees weren't transparent, and even checking in was a customer service nightmare.

I've stayed here three times, in three different rooms on three different floors, and I love this place. I also read the negative reviews and looked into whether they seemed accurate. Many had spelling and grammar mistakes, which made me feel they were unfair and inaccurate, to say the least. A good, honest review comes from a good, honest person, and that's me. Thanks especially to Angela, Dee, Maurice, Mark, Elton, and the wonderful Housekeeping Staff.

We've been living here for months and haven't had problems. Angie is great with our dogs and makes the effort to know them, treating them like guests. D and Maurice work hard to keep the property clean, drug-free, and free of nonsense. The place is clean, smoking isn't allowed by the doors, and people can't sit around making noise in the parking lot. Follow the rules and you should be fine. We've stayed at several hotels in the area, and this is the cleanest and nicest so far. They really care. I have two service dogs and can take them anywhere, but pets are welcome here too for a fee. Packages and mail can be delivered, which is convenient, and the location is close to my job. It's a four-floor building with an elevator. They gave us a first floor room when one was available. Laundry is on site, $2.50 a machine. I'd recommend it for a safe, clean short or long stay.
