My Place Hotel - Overland Park

For weeks, I stayed here through corporate lodging, and they were the only hotel in that program that required my card on file. When I questioned the general manager, he first said it was in case I wanted to buy something from the overpriced store. After I said I could guarantee I wouldn’t, he told me I had to provide a card or not stay. They also told our corporate lodging company the hotel was full, even though we had 40 rooms in a 63-room hotel. I saw construction companies and other people filling rooms. When I had room problems, they wouldn’t move me. It took two weeks for them to replace my fridge, which only cooled to 60 degrees. They cleaned the ice once, then again, and finally put in a thermometer that confirmed it still wasn’t cooling even on the highest setting. We were supposed to get pots and dishes, but what we got was one 5.5-inch frying pan, a plastic cup and plate, a spatula, fork, and butter knife. How was I meant to have soup from a can, microwave it in a plastic cup? It felt like they’d bought the cheapest plastic stuff from Walmart just to fulfill the contract. Very disappointing. I could say more, but nothing there is going to change. I hope they pull our contract. I’ve stayed at other my place extended stays and never had to put a card on file. Good luck if you stay here.

My spouse had a very stressful medical appointment, and we booked through Expedia. A problem with the app shifted the reservation to the day after we needed it. Even though rooms were available, the company refused to work with Expedia to change the date. This feels like a greedy corporation trying to take every last bit of money from people. You get what you pay for, as the reviews show. Spend a little more and choose a quality hotel where customer service and people matter.

The hallways smelled of urine, and my room was like a pack of wild dogs had been living in it. This place is terrible. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone, even people with pets. Your furries deserve better.

I’ve been here three days and the room is a mess. The carpet is dirty, and even after I asked, housekeeping still hasn’t come to clean. They told me service is only provided every four days. I’m really disappointed in the cleanliness and service, and unfortunately wouldn’t recommend this hotel.
