Super 8 by Wyndham Page/Lake Powell

For a Super 8, this was a pleasant surprise. The room had a small balcony that was great for morning coffee, and the beds were clean and comfortable. The evening staff were helpful and kindly let us check out late. Breakfast was adequate, especially the boiled eggs and freshly made waffles. Just two laundry machines work, and the labeling on them isn't clear.

The room was ugly and poorly lit, and the bed creaked loudly whenever we sat down. Smoke smell filled the room the whole time, and there was no shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, or bottled water. We went to reception several times, but nobody was there. The staff came across as careless, unwelcoming, and outright rude. This old, run-down place felt like a one-star stay. I've never had a bad experience with Super 8 before, but this location was a huge letdown, and I regret booking it. Holiday Inn or La Quinta right next door would've been a much better choice. I can't recommend this hotel, and wish I'd saved my money and frustration.

Our room was clean but very dated, and the shower barely got warm. Its spray felt like a pressure washer. There was no soundproofing: the next room's alarm woke us as if we were sharing the same space, and light from the hallway came through the gap under our door all night. The staff were unpleasant and never smiled, which made it seem like they didn't want to be there. For what we got, it was extremely overpriced and a terrible stay. I'd spend a little more and go elsewhere. It would be worth it.

We paid for a room with three queen beds through booking.com, but after charging our card, the hotel told us it was overbooked and put us in a two-queen room instead. The front desk said they'd refund us, but three months later there's still no refund. They've ignored several refund requests from booking.com, and when I called, they were rude and unhelpful. They also had no soap in the room, saying they were out, and handed me a few alcohol wipes instead. Unacceptable.
