Embassy Suites by Hilton Convention Center Las Vegas

My room had a musty smell, and the living area stayed pretty dark unless I turned on all the lights. They need a better way to clean the carpets. The building design and room layout were nice, and the staff were pleasant. The lobby felt open and welcoming, and being able to see the Sphere through its glass wall was a treat. Free breakfast is always a nice perk, and there was also a nightly reception with two complimentary cocktails.

The service was the main reason I probably wouldn't stay again unless things change. The woman checking me in was cold, with no welcome or smile, and my attempt at a dad joke got nothing. The African American woman at the bar was just as chilly. She didn't greet us, spoke in a harsh tone, and gave one word answers when we asked about the drinks, menu, or happy hour. We arrived half an hour before our coupon was usable, and she didn't offer anything while we waited. It didn't feel like the staff appreciated us. The room also needs work. The pillows were tiny square things with no support, so sleeping was uncomfortable. The place felt run down: molding by the outside window was peeling, the carpet between the bedroom and living room was chewed up, bathroom baseboard corners were peeling, and the baseboard by the sink was water damaged. The thin shower curtain had a little mold at the top. It felt like the room needed a major remodel. There were good parts. The suite was spacious, with a separate bedroom and living room, and the heat and air worked perfectly even during the freezing last week of December 2025. When I called about the broken safe, maintenance came in under five minutes and replaced it quickly. The location is handy too, about a ten minute walk to the convention center for the monorail to the Strip. Breakfast was self serve and included with our room rate, with eggs, sausage, fruit, coffee, pancakes, toast, yogurt, and made to order omelets. The omelet line was a mile long, so we skipped it. Happy hour started at 5:30, with two free well drinks each night, plus salty snacks and vegetable platters. Given how expensive things are, that was a good deal.

The only thing I disliked was paying $20 to park in a small lot with no garage. That felt unbelievable. Otherwise, the hotel was great. It's very close to the convention center, and the room was clean and spacious, if a little old. Breakfast was good, with made to order omelets and plenty of other choices. They also give you two drinks at night.

Those Embassy omelettes are delicious, some of the best I've had. I can't believe I forgot about them. The breakfast room is big and there's a good range of food, though it gets crowded. There's a restaurant on the third floor too, which is convenient. I don't usually like Embassy hotels much, and this one was just alright overall. Three entire floors are occupied by jewelry and boutique vendors, so the hotel stays busy. The elevators were slow, and the rooms felt dark and drab. I did appreciate having proper ventilation in the bedroom.
