Holiday Inn Express Las Vegas - Stadium Area by IHG

The location was okay, and the people at reception were welcoming and nice. The room, though, was dirty from the start. There was hair all over the bathroom and bathtub, and the carpet had plenty of trash. It didn't look like the room had been mopped or dusted. We asked both reception and housekeeping to clean it properly since it was already in that state when we arrived. They made the beds, but the rest was still the same, including the hair. We don't spend much of the day in a hotel, but having a clean, comfortable place to sleep matters. Vegas was packed that weekend, so this was one of the first hotels we found.

It was an average stay and basically fine, though some small details could've been handled better. Breakfast was basic and okay, but the area looked messy. I suspect one person was trying to manage it alone. Flyers being slipped under the door also bothered me, less because of the flyers themselves and more because it felt like almost anyone could wander around inside the hotel. I liked that it wasn't right on the Strip, since it was less crowded. The hotel is older, which didn't bother me, but the floor and bathroom could've been cleaner. I saw what looked like hard cookie or cracker crumbs on the floor and an eyelash in the bathroom. Parking came to $22 with tax, which felt disappointing for a hotel off the Strip, though I guess that's Vegas. Still, it wasn't a bad hotel.

The rooms were clean, new, and spacious. Trey at the front desk was especially accommodating and knew his stuff. I've used a lot of points to book five free nights here for me and some associates, and got five-star service. Holiday Inn Express always looks after me, which is why I keep coming back.

The room itself was nice, and it was an easy, quick walk to the Raiders stadium. That's about the only plus, though. I booked two beds and got a king instead. When I asked, they said they were full and couldn't switch it. I requested maid service, but they never made the bed or changed the sheets. The hot tub was out the whole time, and the pool area had no towels. I had to call three times before they brought some. Breakfast was a huge letdown too, with almost everything gone. The pancake maker was down, and all that remained was yogurt and cereal for around 30 hungry people. They also charge $20 a night for parking.
