The pool was really nice, breakfast was great, and the staff were very friendly. There were lots of food choices and a big dining area in the main hotel, though we had to walk over from our building. I do wish they had high chairs. The location wasn’t too far from Dutch Wonderland. From the photos, I thought this was a standalone hotel, but it’s actually a second building. The room was compact and wasn’t clean when we arrived. There was hair in the tub and dust all over the fridge, so I was glad I’d cleaned it myself. The beds were neat and clean. Outside, there were lots of spider webs and rust that need attention.

I’d stay here again. I was in town for an event at Rough and Tumble and chose this hotel, which has a Best Western Plus and studio rooms in a separate building. There are both indoor and outdoor pools, and breakfast is served every day. I enjoyed my room, including the bed and shower. My only reason for holding back a fifth star is the odd housekeeping: they replaced my bath and hand towels but not the bathmat, made the bed without changing the pillowcases, and I’m unsure whether the sheets were changed. They also didn’t replace the coffee I’d used or add the body wash I requested at the front desk. Even with those quirks, it’s a very nice property.

The pillows were awful, and my head sank straight through them to the bed. The bed hurt my wife’s and my backs so much that we couldn’t sleep. We left a day and night early after being told there was nothing they could do, and lost money because of it. I’d arrived an hour before check-in, but they wouldn’t let me in. I had to meet my father-in-law, so I ended up meeting him late. My wife and I have stayed at plenty of Best Westerns and never had an experience like this.

The rooms are clean and really nice, but the website gives the wrong impression. These rooms are in a separate building, not the actual hotel, and you have to walk to the main building to use the amenities or get breakfast. I’m handicapped and unable to walk that distance, but they weren’t willing to accommodate us. Definitely won’t be back.
