I’m staying here now, and it’s been disappointing. The place looks recently modernized and seems okay, and the staff have been adequate, but there’s a general feeling of disrepair and not much attention to the small things that make a trip pleasant. The toaster is broken. That happens. But when I came down at 8:40 on Christmas Eve, after being told breakfast would close early at 9 that day and the next, there was no waffle or pancake batter because they said they were closing in 20 minutes. Several other guests looked disappointed too. I can’t eat the bacon, potatoes, or eggs, and the oatmeal was lukewarm and watery, like the day before, so I had untoasted toast. The ice machine on my floor is broken, the poorly fitted pocket bathroom door takes three strong people to open and close, and the sink faucet is too big for its hole and hasn’t been caulked. For a place at the higher end of mid-tier, the upkeep and attention to detail just aren’t there. Usually I’d talk to someone at the desk instead of reviewing, but someone has to be at the desk first. This isn’t what I wanted from one of the few trips away I get each year. Maybe the property is under pressure to keep staffing low and avoid wasting a few cups of batter, so the staff may be doing their best. Still, I’m bummed to be here. It’s annoying to keep running into these small disappointments.

We stayed one night in a king suite, and it was immaculate, spacious, and very clean. The front desk staff were kind and accommodating, and even checked us in a little early. The kitchenette had everything we might need for cooking, and the bathroom was stocked with toiletries. Housekeeping were sweet and offered a late checkout if we needed it. Breakfast had a great range of hot and cold choices, and the staff were helpful. There was also free parking and a 24 hour coffee and tea station. The location was convenient, with everything we needed nearby and the beach just a 20 minute drive away. A 10/10 stay. I’d highly recommend it and would come back.

The noise was the one real downside. We were under a guest who stomped so hard and so often all night and early in the morning that things on the walls shook. The front desk contacted them and it eased up for a while. They were gone on our last night, which made that day a 5/5. The walls and ceilings are thin, unfortunately. Otherwise, we had a great three-night stay and would come back. The spacious suite was nice, the bed comfortable enough, and the huge TV let us log into Netflix and Disney+. Breakfast was hot with plenty of choice from 6-10am, and we appreciated the early check-in and later checkout. The shower was surprisingly good, and the body wash and hand soap smelled amazing.

We were stranded when our flight out of Pensacola was canceled, so we booked at the last minute. The staff made everything easy, and the complimentary airport shuttle was a big help. The lobby sitting area was comfortable, and the hotel looked and smelled amazing. Our room was clean and nicely furnished, with a comfortable bed, mini fridge, and what looked like a recently renovated bathroom. The snack bar was well stocked. We were very happy with our stay.
