Skylark Motel

We had our best motel visit here. Martha checked us in and was so sweet and accommodating. Our room, # 20, smelled so clean and fresh, and it was really quiet. Thanks for the best night's sleep away from home. I also left my Drivers License behind. They found it, called me, and are mailing it to me. God bless these thoughtful ladies. Thank you, we'll be back.

Once you stay longer than a week, they don't clean the room or replace towels, and there's no toilet paper. Staff are never in the office, and this place needs new staff. They'll find some way to keep your deposit. It seemed nice when I moved in, though, as someone else mentioned, the painted tub was peeling. If you're in Perry, don't stay here. There are plenty of hotels and motels a mile up the street.

I didn't have any Wi-Fi, since there wasn't any to be found, though I don't know if they offer it. The proprietor was nice and friendly. My room had sparse, mismatched, inexpensive furniture, and the TV was mounted oddly high near the ceiling, so you could only watch it from the bed. It was a quiet night. The rattling little window unit barely kept up with the heat, but did a good job cooling the room overnight. I've always loved these old Florida back-road motels, with their open inner-courtyard parking lots and all the different signs, architecture, and names. The Skylark is a classic from the early days of the open road in the USA.

They treat you like family, and the rooms are very clean. It's a great place for kids now. Definitely a changed place.
