The property management company seems sketchy to me. Zillow listings show units at prices below what they actually lease them for. I tried contacting the company through Zillow to arrange a tour and got no response. Calling the listed number only gave me a disconnected-number message. If this is how they handle their business, it makes me wonder what living there as a tenant would be like.
I’m so sad to leave mariner’s court. The loft was exactly what I’d hoped for, with exposed brick and a big skylight, and the location was perfect. I’ve lived all over the country and never had a property manager like Mercedes. She was incredibly helpful the whole time, understanding, and quick to answer any question or request. She made moving in a dream and moving out a breeze. I’m truly grateful.
My rental experience has been extremely comfortable, thanks in large part to Mercedes. She’s the gold standard for management at Mariner's court, always pleasant to deal with and very prompt when responding.
After I posted this, they told me to email them, but they still never replied. I’d already sent multiple messages before moving out without getting an answer, and the email I sent the woman below after they commented also went unanswered. I lived here for nearly seven years. At first, it was a delightful place, with outstanding owners and a property manager. The building changed hands several times after that, with managers coming and going. Things ran smoothly until Lucern Management took over and, in my view, caused havoc. The manager at that point was exceptionally inept. Later ownership and management changes brought some improvement, but by then the building had deteriorated badly and remained in disrepair. The new owners wouldn’t put money into the necessary maintenance and repairs, and the property fell into disarray. For the last four years I lived there, I dealt with numerous leaks that were never properly fixed. I don’t blame the maintenance staff, who were stretched thin, but the owners wouldn’t hire competent professionals. Repairs often took weeks. The ongoing leaks eventually led to mold, which I had tested, and my son and I developed serious allergy and asthma problems. We were frequently ill without a clear reason. I also had a compromised immune system after a cancer diagnosis while living in the apartment. The conditions became overwhelming, and the owner wouldn’t take responsibility, so I eventually moved out. I strongly advise against living in this building. It’s poorly maintained, has mold, and is continually deteriorating. The original construction was flawed, and fixing it would require essentially a complete overhaul. It used to be a beautiful home, but the current owners’ neglect has made it a nightmare. If you can’t live with constant leaks and things falling apart, I’d strongly discourage moving in.
This has been the best apartment experience of my life. There’s so much space, the location is perfect, and shops and work are walkable. Best of all is the staff. Mercedes and Bobby are just great people.
