My earlier stays here left me with little good to say, but things have changed recently. The new manager and his wife have made the place feel completely different, and the woman there is genuinely nice and will talk with you. They’ve also redone the bathrooms, which are much nicer now. It’s still a motel rather than a Hilton, but if you’re watching expenses or staying by the week, it works well. My time here lately has been a new experience.
I stayed here for several months and would come back. The rates are reasonable, and they’re very welcoming to pets. Since it’s near the refineries, a lot of the guests work there. Nights were calm, and I found the stay comfortable.
Inside, it reminded me of a Motel 6, though the outside looks okay. The staff were helpful and always greeted me, and I felt safe here, more like I was at the beach than in some, maybe most, hotels where I’ve felt like I was in the ghetto. I’d stay again, and you should too if saving money matters.
I was working nearby in February 2017 and stayed for four weeks. The rooms had recently been remodeled, and the place was clean and nice with no problems during my stay. The owners are a kind Christian couple, and their firm rules help keep trouble away. Most of the people I met there were also working at the plants. I’d stay again if work brought me back to the area.
This was my last stay here. I was there very recently because it was close to my husband's job, but the housekeepers were rude and none spoke English, so they didn't understand me. The rooms were filthy when we arrived, with mold and more besides. Two rooms got broken into, and no one, including the staff, seemed to know anything. There were too many drifters and drunks around.
