The staff were so easy to talk to that it felt like staying with friends, and I could even take a quiet afternoon nap after exploring the city. This isn't a party hostel, which suited me well. The main house was booked for a private event, so I stayed in the smaller house next door, with just two bunk rooms. It was exactly what I wanted: clean, comfortable, friendly, and equipped with what I needed without feeling overwhelming. I booked at the last minute while checking out Portland as a possible place to move, and I have no regrets. Entry was flexible and simple with a keypad. The house is on a peaceful residential street, with plenty of safe parking if you have a car. Shops, restaurants, coffee spots, and classic Portland food truck pods are all within walking distance. I highly recommend it.

I’ve visited Portland several times, but only recently found Travelers' House. I wish I’d discovered it sooner. The bus stop is a couple of minutes away on foot and goes straight downtown, while the neighborhood has lots of interesting gift shops, coffee shops, and restaurants. The place itself is lovely, with nice decor and very friendly staff. The kitchen and bathroom were spotless, and I felt at home as soon as I walked in. Nothing to complain about, my time at Travelers' House was sweet. I’ll definitely come back (;

The shared spaces make it easy to meet people if you want to, and the managers Ryan and Grant were a big part of why my stay went so well. They’re welcoming and know the neighborhood and the rest of the city. The kitchens are spacious and have pretty much anything you might need, and the whole place is kept spotless. It felt more like sharing a home with roommates than staying in a hostel, which made for the most comfortable, relaxing hostel stay I’ve had. If you want a calmer feel in one of Portland’s quirky neighborhoods, this place should suit you. Anyone looking for a lively party scene might be disappointed.

I stayed in the four-person women’s dorm, which had plenty of room and was clean. The communal areas have nice furniture, and the kitchen is spacious and fully equipped. It even made me wish my own kitchen were that big. The place is cozy, very clean, and kept warm. Grant runs things professionally and is really friendly. This is the best hostel I’ve stayed in so far, and I’d strongly consider coming back here on another Portland trip.

They had a helpful list of events and places to visit, and the staff worked hard to make us feel welcome and comfortable. The hostel was clean and warm, and I felt completely safe there. Traveling with friends for the first time turned out to be one of the best decisions I’ve made. More than anything, I found a sense of healing during the stay. I truly feel that came from the wonderful environment they’ve created. They’re amazing hosts. Cheers to them! 👏🏼
