Princeton Marriott at Forrestal

The staff were very nice, but the beds made for a terrible night’s sleep. They seem to have replaced all the mattresses, and these are rock hard, barely a step up from the floor. My fiancée wasn’t feeling well, so I went down to get her something from the breakfast buffet, but they said food couldn’t be brought back to the room. The internet was slow too. I don’t usually write reviews, but the beds alone are enough to make me look elsewhere.

We stopped here as a family of four during a road trip over Christmas week, and it felt like we had the whole large conference hotel to ourselves. The lobby was gorgeous, and our room was very nice. We also really liked the gym and pool, plus the game room with foosball, shuffleboard, three arcade games, and a pool table.

I had to cancel because of a family emergency, and I did so within the cancellation period shown by bookings.com. The hotel still charged me and wouldn’t help when I called. They also claimed I’d booked a different day, despite my records showing the dates I selected and their confirmation showing those same dates. Even after bookings.com called them to sort it out, they refused to fix it. Now they’re dragging out what should be a straightforward refund and wasting everyone’s time. I’d planned to reschedule for another weekend, but their customer service means I wouldn’t give this business another chance.

I came for a birthday party and had booked one night at the group rate, since several of us were traveling from out of town. At check-in, I was listed for two nights. I showed the gentleman my reservation, and he corrected it. But when I checked my credit card later, I’d been charged twice. I called and was told I was a no-show, even though the booking had been corrected at check-in. The most Marriott would do was open a case. So disappointing. If someone can help, please comment.
