Super 8 By Wyndham Raleigh Downtown

The room was huge, with a king bed and one single cuck chair, but there was no conditioner in the toiletries and the parking was odd. The remote was broken, the bed shifted whenever I got in or out, and the TV had scratches in the middle and corner. The location wasn't ideal either. Road noise was constant, and while the site can't control that, sirens, motorcycles, people yelling and loud music from both outside and inside the motel made it uncomfortable. I'm giving it a 1 only because it could have been worse, though not by much.

I've stayed here twice now, and the rooms have been clean with a very comfortable bed. The staff are friendly, and the price is reasonable. Being right by a major road means there can be some noise, but that's to be expected.

I arrived at 7am hoping to check in early, but the desk clerk was rude and argued with me. She said the room I booked wasn't available and tried to charge an extra $20, then lowered it to $10. After I'd waited 45 minutes in the lobby, she told me to come back, then later said she'd check me in but that next time I'd have to pay $20 to switch rooms. Two hours after I got in, a friend came by to give me money. We were outside the room, but the desk clerk ran up the stairs yelling that I couldn't have company, then called police and said she wanted me out. Even the officer said she was terrible and liked to argue. I can't find any rule against visitors at this hotel, including in the reservation. I'm now on a do not rent list. This Super 8 motel on S Saunders Street is also in an area with a lot of drug use, which they allow to go on here. Don't stay here, go somewhere else.

The woman in glasses got in my face and called the police when we asked for about six minutes to pay for another day. My husband's brother was sending him the money. She said that wasn't her problem, and told police she'd given us until noon, when it was only 11:15. She'd actually said she'd give us 15 minutes before calling them. I asked to speak with the manager by phone, but she hung up on me, so I went downstairs. She was rude and unprofessional. She also works at the Quality Inn next to the Super 8. They tried to have us put on a ban list there even though we'd never been there, so she must have taken our information from the Super 8 and put it in at the other place. We had nowhere to go and were still waiting for the money. When it finally came through, she said if we kept talking we couldn't get the room. That's crazy.
