Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Rapid City

There’s no closet or wardrobe, just pegs on the wall for hanging clothes, which isn’t a great design. The rooms were clean, the staff friendly, and breakfast had enough variety. There were ready-made biscuit sandwiches, gluten-free choices, strawberries and whipped cream for the Belgian waffles, fresh fruit, and yogurt, among other things. No eggs, though.

Breakfast was very good, and the room itself was great. The modern art decor made it feel welcoming, the bed and linens were nice, and the big TV was a real plus. The room was very updated for all our electronics.

Most of the staff were great and friendly, and the hotel was good. Breakfast was okay, though we had biscuits and gravy all three days. On our last night, we greeted the man working after coming back from our tour, but he didn’t acknowledge us. Since we’d booked an extra night, our room key stopped working even though they’d taken the payment. We had to go back downstairs, and the unfriendly man reactivated it without saying a word.

The room was clean and welcoming, and the service desk staff were friendly and helpful. It isn’t especially fancy, but it’s a nice place to spend the night when you need one.
