Travelodge Redding CA

Nicole at reception made a rough night much easier. After an injury left me needing an unexpected night in Redding, walking was extremely painful. She arranged a quiet room downstairs and even brought my bag and a pack of ice to the room. I’m so grateful for her care and kindness.

We came through from Colorado and felt so at home here I didn’t want to leave. Heather, Alex, the rest of the staff, and Bobby 🐈‍⬛ made us feel so welcome. The room was spacious, the beds were big, and there’s a pool. We’ll definitely be back, and I’d recommend it to anyone stopping in Redding.

The room was large, but the rest of this stay was awful. We arrived around 12:30 at night and couldn’t find anyone at the desk. We knocked at the door and teller window, then called the number posted there several times and left messages. Just as we were about to look for another motel, we spotted the clerk in the laundry room. I had to get out and fetch her so she would check us in, even though she could see our car parked in front of the office. The computer and printer weren’t working, so she told me to return in the morning to sign the paperwork. I had to leave by 5 a.m. and asked her to be there. At five, I knocked on the door and window, called once, and still found nobody in the office or answering the phone. I left without signing anything. Being outside trying to get service as a woman alone with a child felt scary and unsafe, especially since this motel isn’t in the safest part of Redding. I’ll never book here again.

The pool was a lot of fun and a welcome break from the heat, and breakfast was included. Those were nice extras, but what really stood out was how friendly and helpful the staff were, from answering restaurant questions to getting things for the room. Our room was clean and comfortable, and we felt safe and welcome the whole time. We were in town for a nearby concert and this worked out perfectly. I’d recommend staying here and would return on another visit.
