Hampton Inn & Suites Richmond/Glenside

We won't stay here again. We're Gold members and were quoted a $100 fee for late checkout, even though Hampton Inn Innsbrook charged nothing and the nearby Homewood Suites charged $25. We were in town for a swim meet at NOVA Aquatics, and our swimmer made finals later that day, something that's hard to predict in advance. I expected better care, especially since we'd stayed here for another meet just two months ago. We spent hours in the lobby waiting for the evening session and saw people allowed to check in early for free, including a woman who'd never stayed there and wasn't Gold or Diamond. The hotel itself was beautifully remodeled and the stay was great, which made the fee feel like a total ripoff.

The bed and pillows were comfortable, and there was plenty of room. Everything felt clean and safe, and the new TV lets you sign into streaming apps. Staff could be a little stand-offish, but they did help with what I needed. Breakfast was fine, the usual Hampton choices, though it shuts down early at 9. The sink faucet was poorly designed and came off once, and the water pressure was very low. My shower never got very hot, but it was warm enough.

T'Keshia Brown really looked out for me when a snowstorm meant I couldn't make my reservation. She called me back unexpectedly with a way to rearrange my travel plans without a penalty. She could have forgotten about me after we hung up, so I appreciated that she followed through. I've checked in a week late now, and the property looks sharp. It's been completely remodeled since my last visit a few years ago, and the rooms feel new instead of showing the old underneath. This is my second stay in a month, and since I travel here often, it'll be in my regular rotation. I'd give the property and T'Keshia five stars all day. The General Manager gets one from me, though. As a Diamond Member, I expect a reply when I email the General Manager. Apart from that, I'll be at this Hampton a lot this year.

Breakfast was included and had plenty to choose from, with a different menu each day. We stayed three nights and were comfortable throughout. The hotel felt spacious and very clean, and having housekeeping every other day worked well for us. Snacks, drinks, beer, and wine were easy to get at the front desk. There was plenty of parking and no extra charge. Everything looked good, and I'd definitely recommend staying here.
