After a long day, the comfortable bed was welcome. Pavan also made our stay delightful with his courtesy, friendliness, and helpful guidance. The security latch on our door was broken, which concerned us, but we felt safe using the bolt lock.

I travel with three very small dogs and use RR inns, but lately most places have rules allowing only one pet, while some permit two for a fee. I haven’t found one in the past year that allows three. Meanwhile, plenty of RR inns have people living there full time, and I’ve seen those guests damage the property, leave trash, make noise, and have people coming and going at all hours. I’d rather be next to dogs than people selling or using drugs and drinking all night, with fights breaking out. I’m venting, I know. This location didn’t seem to have full-time tenants, though some long-term workers were staying. One of them came into the office upset because the maid had knocked on his door at 6 am again. He said it had happened often, that he worked nights and had told them several times, and that the number they gave him to call was bogus. I’d be upset too. The motel website promised “grab n go breakfast,” but at 8 am there was only coffee. I went back to my room and found my key didn’t work. The next one from the office didn’t work either, and it took a third trip to get a working key. As an older man, going up and down the stairs repeatedly just to get in was frustrating. When I later returned the keycard, I spotted chewy bars and individually wrapped mini danish in a small room by the frkny desk. I went in to take one for the road, and the man behind the counter followed me in and watched while I chose a Danish. It felt awkward and like he was just keeping an eye on me. I only took one tiny Danish. I don’t know if he thought I’d take all twelve, but I’m 60, not a kid, and wasn’t going to clear them out. They probably cost 25 cents each, yet he stared at me like I was picking a diamond.

I saw a previous negative review with pictures of bugs, but those were metal boring beatles, not bed bugs. There were no insects in my room at all. The staff were friendly, and they have continental breakfast and coffee. It was clean, updated, and inexpensive, which was what I wanted. The parking area was well lit and had security cameras. I’d stay here again.

We’ve made this our stop on the way to and from Florida for six years, always booking room # 116. The complimentary coffee, fruit, and yogurt are a big plus when we’re heading out early, and we can take them along. This visit, two days ago, the TV volume wouldn’t work. After a long drive, relaxing with the TV is nice. I asked Frieda at the front desk, who I love because she’s always efficient, kind, and helpful. She offered suggestions, but none worked. We’d already moved in and unpacked, so we didn’t switch rooms. Next time we’ll check the TV first. Some people stay for a long time, almost like residents, and can be loud. We know they’ll eventually go to sleep. That’s my only complaint, and it won’t stop us from coming back next year.
