The noise, heat, and lack of privacy made the room hard to sleep in. It faced the parking lot of the bar next door, so there were headlights and noise, while a bright outdoor light made it feel like daytime all night, even with the blinds shut. The thermostat was set to 68°, but the room reached 85° overnight. The walls also offered no relief from the outside situation. The TV was unplugged when I arrived, and after I plugged it in, it couldn’t update and had no network settings. Shampoo was there, but no conditioner. I didn’t meet any staff during the stay. Check-in wasn’t allowed until 4pm, but the lobby shut at 5pm, which was inconvenient and didn’t feel customer-friendly. Even before arriving, I’d received a “goodbye” email, which wasn’t exactly welcoming. The towels looked dirty, and one pillow had what looked like blood stains. With the missing basics, broken TV, and all the other problems, this was a very disappointing stay. I wouldn’t stay here again.

The Guest House is close to many main attractions, and The Eastern Salt Marsh is nearby. I had a comfortable, secure first-floor room with a king size bed, and it was easy to reach customer service. The local restaurants, venues, walks, and general comfort are all reasons I plan to return for another stay.

The rooms were okay, but they all looked onto a parking lot, with no water view. The photos shown for the hotel are from the previous establishment and don’t represent its current condition. It felt more like an AirBNB presented as a hotel. There was no staff when we arrived, and we had to call an 800 number to get the room’s key code. There wasn’t any WiFi either. The walls were so thin I could hear everything happening in the next room, play by play. The website now seems to be a dead link, which felt super shady.

The room itself was nice, and the bathroom was the best part, but the mattress was sinking and needs replacing. We could hear our neighbors talking through the paper-thin walls. The hotel’s location was great, but our advertised ocean view turned out to be a view of the parking lot. They also wanted to charge extra for a 3 pm early check-in, which is standard elsewhere. At the front desk, the admin wasn’t helpful. She either didn’t know the details or was trying to withhold information about hidden fees.

We had a good stay in the rooms overall, apart from the TV in our living room, but planning our wedding guest block at guest house suites was a real struggle. Things started well with event coordinator Raychel, then after a few months she stopped responding. I had to call to learn she was no longer with GHS. After that, a different person handled every question, and there was a lot of confusion about details we’d specifically arranged with Raychel, including early check-in for guests and room block pricing. Several guests were initially told the block was full or that no block existed. Then, three hours before check-in the day before our wedding, my mother got one text saying her weekend room was no longer available due to "unforeseen circumstances". As the bride, I was really frustrated. Luckily I’d reserved a second room, so my parents could stay in that one. When we arrived, a contractor said they’d been renovating the room. They should have told the guest about the existing renovation much earlier than three hours before check-in.
