Motel 6 San Angelo, TX

It’s 4 a.m. and I’m writing this after turning in my key and being denied a refund. I found German roaches in the room, and the first reason I was given was that I hadn’t come back within two hours. I’d been there no more than an hour and a half, which my receipt clearly shows. When I asked for a receipt, the desk worker wrote some numbers on a piece of paper and said he doesn’t make the rules. Apparently I had 15 minutes after getting the key to search every inch for even tiny roaches; after that, it was out of his hands. The older white-haired man working on 12/1 was unprofessional. The room was cheap, but you’d have to be fine sharing it with their roach infestation. This was the worst hotel experience I’ve had. If there’s a way to say I’ll never come back, that’s it. I don’t usually leave reviews, but don’t spend money here. Someone needs to shut this place down.

My in-laws sent me pictures from their room after checking in on the way to visit family for the holidays. The place looked like an absolute dump. Everything was run down and disgustingly dirty, and the windows were so bad they couldn’t even see out. I found them another hotel up the street because this motel didn’t feel safe to stay in. Motel 6 should be embarrassed.

The price was low, and at least there weren’t bed bugs, but that was about all it had going for it. There were blood stains on the pillows, the toilets weren’t clean, and the bathroom lights didn’t work. Between 2 and 5 a.m. there was a lot of activity, with what sounded like people pacing upstairs.

Trash was scattered outside, and my room had so many cockroaches that even the spray I bought and used myself didn’t help. I left before the end of my booking because it was that bad. This is not somewhere to stay if you want a clean, decent place and peace of mind. I definitely won’t be back.
