Quality Inn San Angelo

We were first put in a room that hadn’t been cleaned after the previous guest. At 2:30 a.m. the smoke detector went off for no reason, then again at 10 a.m. The front desk said it was our room and threatened a $750 charge if the fire department came, though nobody from the office contacted us during the first alarm. The next day it went off while we were eating breakfast. I opened the door for room service to show there was no reason for it. I’d accidentally booked another night for the wrong date. The manager called the police, falsely said we hadn’t paid, and had them kick us out. She also claimed my friend and I had been yelling and hitting each other in the parking lot all night, which couldn’t have happened because she was at work the whole time. The manager later admitted she found my reservation, but still wouldn’t accept it or refund me. The room was paid for, and the dates could have been adjusted as they had been before. We couldn’t stay again after the things she told police, so a refund should have been issued. False allegations to the police are illegal.

Teresa was the one bright spot: she was incredibly nice, and the location made it fairly easy to get around the city. The hotel itself was awful, and I’ve stayed in some pretty bad places. I usually avoid leaving negative reviews, but this one was that bad. We booked online because the pool was advertised and the rooms looked fairly clean and decent. When we arrived, the pool was crumbling and out of service. We changed rooms three times. In the first, the lock, lights, and fridge didn’t work. The second had a broken AC and a random puddle in the bathroom. The third again had a broken AC and fridge. None of the ice machines worked either. The continental breakfast turned out to be a voucher for the restaurant next door, which hadn’t been disclosed in the booking. After an eight hour drive with a disabled family member, this was incredibly frustrating. We needed the fridge for medicine and AC in Texas’s 90° heat. The customer service was great, but the hotel was a huge disappointment.

Be careful, they charged me for four extra nights. I’d stayed a week, had to check out two days early, and asked for a refund. They said it would come the next day. When I saw the additional charges, I called to ask what was going on, but they hung up and wouldn’t answer me again.

The fire alarm went off in the middle of the night, then sounded again in our room the next morning while my husband was showering. The attendant wanted to come in, and I told them there wasn’t a fire and my husband was still in the shower. Who does that?
