Stay Express Inn Near Ft. Sam Houston

For $70 a night, I’m not sure this was worth paying for. The room was reasonably clean, but the whole place badly needed renovation and basic maintenance. Light fixtures hung loose on the walls, the carpet was old and badly frayed, and the beds had noisy rubber sheets that made an irritating sound every time you moved. The room was dim, the bathroom sink was barely attached and couldn’t hold any weight, and the tiny shower curtain kept clinging to me. There seemed to be full-time residents there whose character and circumstances made me uneasy. The coffee creamer was so old it had become a solid lump, and the coffee itself tasted like nothing. Their version of continental breakfast was lukewarm weak coffee and a stale Otis Spunkmeyers muffin, so we went to IHOP instead and were glad we did. I wouldn’t recommend this place unless you like taking risks.
