The bed and food were both great, which matters most to me after staying in lots of hotels over the years. I was here for a few nights for a conference and really enjoyed it. The lobby looks beautiful, and my room was spacious and nice, with a gorgeous view of the bay. I felt like a king while I was there. There are lots of handy food options nearby, and Old San Diego is close too. I’d absolutely stay again if I’m in the area.

The location makes it easy to get to Petco Park, and the Convention Center is nearby too. Or you could just stay put. There’s a pool, a good bar, and nice places to eat. Check-in and checkout are easy, and Hilton points are free to sign up for. Our room was ready on time and looked lovely. It wasn’t huge, but it was comfortable, super clean, and had a great bed and TV. The housekeeping staff are great too, and they’ll bring extra towels when you ask. If you’re lucky, you get a beautiful view of the Bay. You can talk to it. Ya, I could live here.

Kanishka was especially helpful, answering all my hotel questions and giving me lots of recommendations. The staff made me feel at home. I loved the view, which reached all the way to coronado island, and the room was clean with comfortable beds. Having starbucks right there was convenient too.

The place feels like a conference center that happens to have hotel rooms. It’s pretty, clean, and expensive, but also really loud. The shower was barely lukewarm, and the rooms felt cramped with two people’s full-size luggage. Ours looked cluttered for the whole stay. I’ve been more comfortable in every La Quinta I’ve stayed at, and I won’t come back.

Mimi at the bar restaurant was the saving grace. She was lovely, friendly, and had a real can-do attitude. The one-star rating is for the front desk and on-site messaging. Both told me to call the 800 number and said they’d be happy to assist me there. I’m a diamond member who spent 7K over the weekend and booked five rooms for a conference. Seriously, I needed help on site, not to be passed along. If all the front desk can do is hand out a room key, an AI kiosk could do that.
