The location of The Surfer Beach Hotel is beautiful, right on the beach, but the staff are what really made our stay. Hunter was wonderful on the phone when we booked and made it all easy and pleasant. Angel was so welcoming, personable, and kind at check-in. We can't wait to return. Highly recommend it for the views and the great service.

My weekend at the surfer beach hotel was amazing. I'm from midwest Michigan, and the whole experience felt like another world. We arrived early and the staff were friendly, understanding, and accommodating right from the start. We got upgraded to the sunset suite, and the view was breathtaking. The room was spacious and had all the amenities you could want, and I felt so lucky to have that deck. The boardwalk was a lovely place to walk, swim, eat some amazing food, and watch people enjoy the beach and sunset. My first trip to California was unforgettable thanks to the hotel and its wonderful staff. I can't stop talking about the experience.

I've been staying at this location since the 1990s, and it's never disappointed. Going back feels even better now, both for the nostalgia and the service. The rooms are great, and the beachfront location is as good as it gets. It's near food, freeways, and all the fun of the most beautiful city on earth. Highly recommended, especially if you've never been to san diego. You'll get a real feel for what the city is.

I keep coming back to this old favorite. The place is a little worn, but being right on the boardwalk makes up for it. Woodys next door is great for coffee.

The pool is heated, though it could use more upkeep, and you’ll have to pay for parking separately. The room I had was small and dated, with no central AC, microwave, safe, desk and chair, iron, or hair dryer. They are renovating, though. Still, it’s a good-value spot for a beach getaway, with clean beds, a mini fridge, and a balcony with a beach view in most rooms. The location is hard to beat.
