We loved our stay at Chancellor Hotel and the comfort and ease of it all. The service was amazing, with kind staff, a clean space, and little touches that made us happy to be there. There was surprise popcorn and a coffee machine in the lobby, ice on every floor, a nice cold fridge, a super soft bed, and a pillow menu. The location in Union Station is ideal and close to BART. There’s no AC, but that wasn’t a problem. If the room felt a bit stuffy, we opened the window or used the overhead fan. There was also a portable fan in the closet, though we never needed it to be comfortable. Highly recommend!

I was there for eleven nights, and the staff were absolutely phenomenal. Every employee I met was friendly. When I accidentally left behind a very important book, the Reservations team, especially Shirley, responded right away and kept it safely stored for months. They went above and beyond and made me feel like an old friend. The cozy lobby had free homemade cookies, fresh apples, and high-end coffee. It felt like coming home, not like a cold hotel. My room was bright and comfortable with great airflow. The location is unbeatable: super safe, easy to reach from Powell BART Station, steps from Union Square, and surrounded by major stores including Target, Trader Joe's, and Macy's. Highly, highly recommended!

The affordable price, right in the heart of SF, makes this feel like a hidden secret. It’s close to Union Square, and my room had a great view of the square. The bed was comfortable, and the lobby had tea and coffee, plus complimentary spa water and cookies. It’s old school, so don’t expect luxury, but I’m a simple guy and found it more than satisfying.

The location was awesome for visiting San Francisco, but the staff could use some guest experience training. There was no please or thank you, and the door staff didn’t greet us when we came into the lobby. The two double beds as advertised were so soft that if you lay anywhere but the middle, you’d slide off the side. Most uncomfortable bed I’ve ever slept on. I’d avoid it like the plague. I booked based on other reviews and can’t believe how different my stay was from theirs. Maybe it was just the room we got.

They kindly let us into our room early when we arrived at 10 a.m., which we really appreciated after being awake for about 20 hours. The location was wonderful, and we had a great stay in a clean room with a super comfortable bed. Free coffee, tea, and hot chocolate each morning saved us a little time and money. One improvement would be swipe cards to select your floor in the elevator, for added security and safety.
