After a long flight from the UK, I stayed here with friends for a night while we visited San Fran. It was clean, comfortable, and quiet. No complaints.

The housekeeping crew was a 1000% highlight. I loved the small touches, like the toilet paper folded into a diamond and a tissue shaped like a rose. The rooms were clean too. The one thing I didn’t like was that plugging in the iron tripped a fuse and shut everything off.

It was much quieter here than I expected. We stayed in room 207, where the trim was all over the place and not fitted properly. The sink also didn’t drain right, and the rooms could use more work to look professional.

It’s a motel, so you get what you get. The staff were really nice and the room was clean. The coffee was terrible, and the coffee maker leaked.

The event we were attending was only a short walk away. Parking was limited, but the front desk man was friendly enough and let us use management’s spot. This was by far the dirtiest hotel I’ve stayed in. I leaned on the bed and realized my knees were wet. There was a large, yellowish wet stain on the right side. It looked and smelled like urine. I told the front desk, but he insisted that couldn’t be possible because cleaners had been in after the previous guests. He apologized when I pointed out the large discolored spot, but said they were full and couldn’t move us. I asked if someone could change the sheets. He said he’d be right there, then came back about five minutes later and handed me the sheets. He looked at the stain, agreed it was strange, and told me to speak to management at checkout. I was surprised he didn’t offer to change the bed or have housekeeping do it, but I didn’t want to make a fuss. When my friend and I got back from the event, we were exhausted. We put the new sheet over the old one and slept on top of it, under the one cover blanket. The back pillow, between the headboard and the front pillow, was damp and smelled like some kind of chemical. In the morning, after moving the sheets, we saw the stain on the first sheet was much bigger than we’d realized, and very yellow in places. I smelled it again and it definitely smelled like urine. I took more photos and a video, then showed management, as the front desk guy had told me to. He apologized and said, “thank you for letting us know.” That was it. No refund offer, no discount, nothing. I was dumfounded. I stay in 25-30 hotels a year and have never had this happen. So gross. The first photo was taken the first night. The last two were from the morning, when we saw how bad it really was.
