I woke at 5 AM on my first night to a bedbug that had bitten my neck. I checked the bed right away and found one. In New York there’s a protocol to keep it alive for the DOE to inspect the school, so I put it in a tea bag and brought it to the front desk within five minutes. Angelo, the front desk concierge, moved me to another room immediately and later offered me a free laundry pass. I was exceptionally calm about it until FOUND followed up with its inspection results. They said it wasn’t a bedbug and that the room was safe, so they didn’t think extermination was needed. I don’t appreciate being gaslit when what I experienced was very much a bedbug. For your consideration, the videos. FOUND, your response makes me question your integrity, your inspector’s integrity, and your attention to safety protocols for protecting the public. Reimbursing 50%, or $45, means nothing without integrity. If anyone else has had bedbug issues, please post about it.

The room was filthy and smelled strongly of sewage or toilets as soon as I walked in. Dust and dirt covered the floor, bed, table, and TV stand. It felt like it hadn’t been properly cleaned in a long time. The bed was awful, and the sheets and pillows had multiple blood stains. I called the front desk for clean bedding, but nobody responded or helped. I’d booked just one night, but even that was miserable. At 3 AM, a loud argument in the next room woke me, and it went on for nearly two hours. The walls are paper-thin, with essentially no soundproofing, so I couldn’t rest. I left as early as possible the next morning and regretted booking this place. I’d never recommend it. For the same price in San Francisco, you can easily find somewhere cleaner and quieter. Stay away.

The room felt worn out, the bed was uncomfortable, and it was hard to get a decent night’s sleep. There was no fridge in the room either. Instead, guests share one on the second floor, which is very inconvenient. The privacy policy was the biggest problem for me. Leave a “Do Not Disturb” sign up for three days and the hotel will enter your room to clean. There was no in-room safe for valuables, and while I was at work I got a call saying they were going in without my consent. I had no way to stop it. I won’t stay here again. If privacy and security matter to you, I’d look elsewhere.

I spent six nights here for a conference and thought the 3.8-star rating was unfair. The hotel is small and in an older building, but I was happy with the cleanliness, service, and location. My room wasn’t so cramped that it bothered me, and the wardrobe easily held six dress shirts and a blazer. Staff were consistently friendly and happy to chat about the area or offer suggestions. The lounge had comfortable seating, the laundry was easy to use, and there was a fridge for guests’ food. Coffee and tea were available at all hours. The front desk also had a list of amenities. I appreciated the secured lobby door, which requires a room key to enter. It’s close to the Moscone Center, and each evening I walked to a good restaurant: New Delhi for Indian, Thonglor for Thai, Cha Cha Cha for Cuban, and Yasijang for Korean. The cable car turnaround is a block away, with historic trolleys running to Fisherman's Warf. As other reviews mention, there are homeless people around, as there are outside larger hotels too. I walked around at all hours and had no issues, just kept walking past. For the price, it was amazing value, and I’d enthusiastically stay again.

My room was cute, tidy, and clean, and I was really impressed with how clean the hotel was. I was lucky to get a room at the back, so there was little noise. They also provide a white noise machine. The staff were professional and friendly at check-in, and explained the lounge floor, laundry, and coffee. The lounge was a nice place to hang out or study, with lots of international travelers around. The location is central, with frequent BART and bus service. I’ll definitely be back.
