Parc 55 San Francisco-A Hilton Hotel

The hallways could use updating, but the hotel had what I needed and still felt like classic San Francisco with a few modern touches. I was happy with the clean sheets and towels, mini-fridge, effective blackout curtains, and digital clock synced to the hotel system. The location is hard to beat, right at Powell Station. Front desk staff and housekeeping were professional and cordial, and made me feel welcome. I'd happily come back.

We found the hotel very quiet and safe, with the best security process we've seen at any hotel so far. There's a public garage nearby if you'd rather not use the valet. It worked well for both casual and business travel. The fitness center is well equipped, and there are two excellent restaurants within a mile. Try Cable 55 restaurant and Kin Khao, both local to the property. The meals were clean, well prepared, and went nicely with the range of spirits. It's a beautiful full service hotel in the heart of San Francisco.

My one gripe is that there's no room service. The restaurant downstairs is nice and convenient, though, and you can bring the food back to your room. Housekeeping did a phenomenal job, leaving my room spotless each day. The staff at Parc 55 was fantastic. I got a complimentary upgrade on arrival, and whenever I needed something, someone was at my room within minutes. I'd definitely recommend staying here.

The biggest headache was the digital key. I usually rely on Hilton's app and key to skip the front desk, but here the ground floor had three elevator card readers and only one would let me reach the guest floors. The other two stopped at the second floor lobby. On my first night I kept going up the escalator to the lobby until I tried each reader and figured out which one worked. The room was comfortable enough, with a good bed, though a king could use more pillows. Water temperature and pressure were fine. The air conditioning was unpredictable, and the room stayed warmer than I expected even with the thermostat in the low 60s. The rooms feel like the late 90s or early 2000s, but they're functional. For someone who takes BART locally, the location is excellent. Powell Street Station is just steps away, so BART and MUNI are easy to reach without hauling luggage up steep hills. Union Square, restaurants, shops, and transit are right there. I'll probably keep choosing it for that convenience, and hope it eventually gets upgrades to match the accessibility.
