Travelodge by Wyndham San Francisco Bay

My son and I had a wonderful day around the bay, walking with our dog, stopping at landmarks, playing gin rummy, picking up food from trucks, and having ice cream and coffee. We found benches with views of the Golden Gate Bridge and the bay, and it was easy to get around from the Travelodge on Lombard Street. Fort Mason Park is three blocks away, with a path to Ghirardelli Square, Aquatic Park Beach, and Fisherman’s Wharf. In the other direction, Marina Green connects to Crissy Field, the Presidio, and Tunnel Tops Park. Polk Street’s shops are about a six-minute walk, and Chestnut Street’s cafés and upscale shops are a 15-minute stroll away. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and spacious. The heating and air conditioning were well maintained, and I liked being able to open the windows. Everyone on staff was helpful and friendly. Thanks especially to Battima, and sorry if I’ve spelled your name wrong. What looked like a basic budget motel at first turned out to be a great place to stay.

We came back from our cruise and stayed two more nights, which says a lot about how happy I was with this hotel. Before our 16-day cruise, I wanted a few days in SF at a clean, reasonably priced place in a good spot, and this worked out really well. The rooms were large, clean, and quiet, and the staff were courteous and very helpful. You can walk to many of the main attractions, or take a quick 7-8 minute Uber or Lyft ride. Fisherman’s Wharf and Pier 39 are just minutes away. There are a few convenience stores nearby, a supermarket about a 15-minute walk away, and some good restaurants next door. Chicos Pizza was excellent, and we had an amazing dinner at Bobos Steakhouse, right beside the hotel. It had what we needed, from comfortable rooms and good service to restaurants and markets close by. I’d recommend The Travelodge San Francisco Bay. 5 ⭐️

The location made it easy to get around, with coffee shops, restaurants, and buses to all parts of the city nearby. Fisherman Warf is also an easy walk. We had a great one-bed queen room, and the cleaners did a really good job keeping it clean. The front desk woman was very kind, and the room had everything we needed.

We found a spider in the downstairs room we stayed in. The $25-per-night parking fee was unexpected, and we could hear people talking and their TV through the thin walls. There was no breakfast either. We won't stay at this Travelodge near the Marina and Fisherman's Warf again.
