SpringHill Suites by Marriott San Jose Airport

For a 49er football game, this is a handy place to stay. A light rail line runs right beside it and takes you straight to the stadium. The rooms are spacious, and there’s a nice bar for anyone who drinks. You could stay closer to the stadium, but then you’d have a longer walk to get to your seats. If you want to get your steps in, stay nearer the stadium. If you’d rather arrive relaxed and refreshed, this place works well.

Pretty good for a Spring Hill. It’s connected to a Residence Inn and they share a gym. I imagine this location does well because there’s a lot of business tied to the corporate HQ we were visiting. One tip: don’t leave the setup pad on the floor and expect it to stay put if you accidentally step on it.

Enrique went out of his way to help us when we were in San Jose for soccer. We had to leave early for a game, and he got us coffee before it was set out in the lobby and breakfast bags for all the players. We travel a lot for soccer, and Spring Hill will be one of our go-to hotels from now on.

The outside looked nice, but the service was terrible. My purple BOGG Bag went missing while I was staying here. The contents had been left in a clear plastic bag, but the bag itself was gone. When I reported it, management said they couldn’t see the housekeeper with it on surveillance and couldn’t do anything. They even asked whether I’d taken the bag myself. That makes no sense to me. Why would I take my own bag and leave all my things behind in plastic? The whole thing was frustrating and unprofessional. A hotel should offer security and accountability, not excuses or blame the guest. I don’t recommend staying here if you care about your belongings.
