Homestead Motel

The motel is worn, and the bed was uncomfortable enough that it could have used a plywood board. Still, the place was clean and basic, and the microwave, fridge, and AC all worked fine. Staff were hospitable too. For the price, especially in that area, I felt we'd done okay.

There was plenty of parking, but the rates felt far too high for the rooms. The pool has been paved over, and the only bedding was a smelly comforter. Every pillow had “property of County Hospital” printed on it. Our room had no towels or other amenities when we arrived, no hot shower water, and a smell from the AC unit. The place feels like 1960s style, with old carpet, holes in walls and doors, musty curtains, and an AC unit about 30 years old. It's not a modern hotel, if that's what you're after. I wouldn't recommend it.

Roaches were everywhere, and the bathroom had mold. The room looked like it hadn't been vacuumed or wiped down in weeks. I got a refund after making a fuss and threatening to contact the health department, but I'm still going to report this motel. It isn't suitable for anyone. Absolutely disgusting, the worst motel I've ever stayed in.

The room hadn't been cleaned properly, and there was blood on the mattress. There were too many problems to list: dirty walls, missing bulbs, and outdated sockets that didn't work. I also saw multiple code violations. This place was filthy and way overpriced, and in my opinion it should be shut down and investigated. When I asked the housekeeping person for two towels, she was rude. I guess I interrupted her while she was lying on another guest's bed, playing on her phone. Most disgusting place I've ever been to.
