The accessible room worked out pleasantly well for me as a disabled guest. The doors were light, the doorframes were wide, and there were no steps or stoops on the way in. It had a roll-in shower with both a standing shower head and one for use from the provided shower chair, plus a lowered sink and a peephole at seated height. The place was quiet, the manager was friendly, and the key drop box made checkout easy. Denny’s and a convenience store are close by. It’s also one of the least expensive places in town, which can be a relief if you can live with some inconveniences. The fridge and microwave were clean, and there were no smells or vermin. The downsides were pretty visible. The linens were clearly old: lumpy pillows, blankets with what looked like burn holes, and stained towels and shower curtain. The wall beside the toilet looked like it might never have been cleaned, and I saw a booger and some other, um, spots on it. Pets are allowed, which is nice, but the lower lot where the accessible rooms are had no pet potty area and no outdoor trash cans. The pool is permanently closed. It wasn’t a terrible stay, but the low price showed in places.

A simple place that does the job, and I’m grateful for that. A good night’s sleep, a hot shower, and staff doing their best can matter more than marble floors or rooftop pools. The staff worked hard and treated the job professionally, which earns my respect. It’s clean and safe, though it isn’t a luxury resort and doesn’t pretend to be. If service workers, first responders, contractors on the road, and everyday heroes can stay somewhere like this while keeping things running, then people in entertainment or chasing fame can too.

I was expecting less for the price, but the room was clean, and housekeeping clearly does a really good job. The man at the front desk was helpful and very nice during my stay. It’s a very nice place for an inexpensive stay, and I’ll definitely come back next time.

My room was quiet, with pretty views of the hills and valley below. It was on the second floor at the far end, up the hill behind the registration office, and the rooms and parking sit above the office against the hills above the Madonna Inn. The property is older, but the room was spacious and clean, and there’s a pool. Rates are very reasonable, and the staff were friendly and helpful. I couldn’t figure out the wall heater and AC controls, but a quick call from the room brought a nice guy from the front desk up to set them for me. Getting on and off the 101 is easy. Denny’s is right beside the registration office, and they give you 10% off if you show your room key or its sleeve after checkout.
