Hilton Garden Inn San Marcos

The renovation is easy to see, especially in the beautiful lobby, with lots of seating and outlets for charging devices. The bar and restaurant looked elegant. Rooms are clean, comfortable, modernized, and what you’d expect from a Hilton property. Su was especially helpful and joyful, and the staff were all extremely friendly. It’s beside the highway, but you barely hear traffic, and there are restaurants, shops, and entertainment nearby. I strongly recommend Hilton Garden for a stay.

There’s plenty of parking, and it’s easy to find, close to everything in San Marcos. The room was a good size and had the basics: a Keurig, two water bottles, an iron and board, a small closet with hangers, a microwave, and two large blackout shades. The beds and pillows were comfy, and the place was clean. Destiny at the front desk explained checkout and breakfast really well. Big 💯😁 to Angelina for being kind, understanding my frustration about the breakfast issue, and smoothing things over after the late night rep hadn’t told us. I appreciate her help and that smile. Worth the price for parking, cleanliness, and a comfortable stay.

Our room was large, clean, quiet, and comfortable, just as I’ve come to expect from a Hilton property. Everyone was friendly and efficient, from housekeeping and breakfast to the shuttle drivers. Jaylyn at the front desk was always happy to see us, whether we were heading out in the morning or coming back after a long, hot day at the track. Dylan and Liz at the bar and restaurant were excellent, attentive servers. The package included a daily shuttle to and from COTA for the Formula 1 races, arranged by Manager Madison Rogers, so we didn’t have to deal with parking, rideshares, or rental cars. Since the hotel isn’t downtown Austin, the package was a great deal too. My only request for next year is an earlier morning shuttle, around 8am, since the COTA gates open at 9. I highly recommend staying here.

I’d had a great stay here before, so I booked again for an event in San Marcos. The front desk staff were very nice, and the customer service was great. I arrived around 11am and was initially told there wasn’t a room ready, but a kind woman found one so I could quickly change and get ready for an event at the college. She really saved the day, and I was grateful. Parking was free and easy, I felt safe coming and going, and the rooms were clean and beautiful with comfortable beds. A few things made this stay harder. I’m a Hilton Honors member, but was told I’d have to pay for breakfast. I planned to eat with family elsewhere, though even a muffin and coffee would’ve been nice. There was no business center either. I had a work emergency and needed a computer, but when I asked, the woman at the desk seemed confused and asked if I needed a plane ticket printed. I explained I needed to work and was told there was nowhere available. Out of frustration, I asked what I was paying a room rate for, since even a rarely used business center matters. The construction noise was more of a problem the next morning. I’d seen the sign and the second-floor noise that afternoon hadn’t bothered me much, but I’d planned to sleep until about 10am after a long day and late night. At 9am, someone in the hallway outside my room had a loud walkie-talkie conversation, then another person joined in and they talked loudly about something happening at the hotel. After they left, the cleaning crew banged around and slammed doors. I understand the second floor needed cleaning, but some quiet and no shouting in the hall would’ve been appreciated. A family member stayed at another hotel with free breakfast, an easy-to-use business center, and a quiet room, so sadly I don’t think I’ll stay here again. Those things need attention so guests can enjoy what they paid for. If these issues don’t bother you, I still recommend the hotel, but it isn’t for me anymore.
