Sea Breeze Inn

For a cheap hotel, it’s decent enough that I’d come back, but I wouldn’t pay extra for that “sea view” again. The water is visible in the distance, sure, but the hotel sits a block from the beach, right by the highway, with condos behind it. The rooms seem recently remodeled and are clean, though they’re small. There’s barely room in the bathroom and just one towel hook. The microwave automatically locks, which is about the dumbest feature I’ve seen. The plastic-wrapped beds and some pillows crinkle when you move, which I found unsettling.

Getting here was convenient, right off the PCH, and parking and check-in were both easy. The beds were comfy, and we had a partial ocean view. The beach was a five-minute walk away, and we caught a beautiful sunset.

A good price, a great spot, and friendly staff made this a very nice motel. There’s no elevator, which is common in older motels. No air conditioning either, but the sea breeze through the windows felt lovely, and there’s a ceiling fan.

You can hear the ocean, and it’s very close by, but you can also hear other guests talking in their rooms and in the hallway. The coffee maker was awful, dripping water onto the table as well as into the cup, one cup at a time. There’s no pool. I probably won’t stay again.
