Hampton Inn Tulsa-Sand Springs

The room block for our volleyball team was a mess from the start. Families were supposed to call back and book under the block, but staff didn't seem to know how the process worked. One parent ended up with two rooms when she wanted one, and another was added to a reservation that someone else had already paid for, even though she hadn't paid. Each booking call took more than half an hour. When I got there late Friday night, May 1, my key worked, but the whole floor smelled of cigarettes. The bathroom shower dripped all night. On our second night, the fire alarm went off and everyone went downstairs. Staff didn't seem to know what to do, didn't call the fire department, and just checked the floors before saying all clear. Then at 1 a.m., police were banging on a neighbor's door down the hall. Apparently, people had gotten onto the hotel roof during the alarm. I'm still not sure what happened that night, but it gave me the impression this might not be the best area. The beds were hard, the phone wasn't plugged in, and there wasn't a working outlet to plug it into. The phone chargers were broken too.

Check-in is usually quick and easy, and the staff are courteous and accommodating. The accommodations are clean, and the facilities feel up to date. Hampton Inn Tulsa-Sand Springs is well located for tourists, though it can get noisy depending on how many guests are around. Free breakfast is a nice extra, with a good range of choices.

The breakfast was good, though you had to beat the crowd of workers to get it. My room window looked straight onto the pool room roof, lol. The hot water wasn't hot enough for a working man to get clean, and they skipped my towels and room cleaning on the first of my three nights.

I left with what seemed to be an allergic reaction from bed bug bites, and I've called customer care but am still waiting to hear back. I'd strongly advise against staying here. We booked at the last minute for a soccer tournament and arrived around 11:30 at night. Our neighbor was blasting music, so we called the desk to ask them to turn it down because we had our toddler with us. After I went to Quick Trip for contact solution and came back 15 minutes later, young adults were passed out in the back parking lot. The floor smelled like someone was smoking a cigarette too. Disgusting, and you may leave with some kind of bite.
