The little refreshment hour was such a nice surprise, with coffee and a selection of cakes. Our hosts were genuinely welcoming, too. We stayed in Susan’s Loft, where the gas fireplace made everything feel snug and nostalgic. I loved stepping onto the balcony to enjoy the sunshine. I’d happily come back and recommend it.

From the Susan Suite we had a lovely view north toward the mountains and west over the city. It was just the right amount of space for two for a weekend, and the innkeepers took care of our dairy restriction. The building is cute, service was great, and the location worked well. One thing to know: the suite is on the third floor, with stairs and no escalator. We’d love to return.

The rooms all have their own character, and the homemade cookies were delicious. I had a wonderful stay at the historic Bath Street Inn. The owner was incredibly kind, and the location is great for exploring Santa Barbara. Highly recommend! 🏝️

The breakfast and friendly staff were the bright spots for me. I was in the Wisteria room, which is very cramped, with only a bed and two chairs and no desk. The bathroom is part of the room, though at least the toilet has a door. The shower was okay. The jacuzzi looked worn, and I really didn’t feel like filling it up and getting in.

Check-in was easy, and I liked having parking right beside the rooms. The house is cozy, the neighborhood is quiet, the employees were kind, and the rooms have character. Still, I wouldn’t book another stay. We had a rough three nights because the full-sized bed in the Carol room was so firm and uncomfortable. If you’re tall, the slanted, narrow bathroom and shower there may be an issue. Breakfast was fine, but nothing felt especially homemade or rustic, packaged yogurt included. The wine hour also didn’t have the fresh snacks shown in some of the inn’s photos, so it came across as a bit of a pretense.
