I felt safe the whole time I stayed at Driftwood, and the staff were very friendly. It’s a good place to stay.

Good value for the money, with a clean room and friendly staff.

I only booked this last minute because every other Bay Area hotel was full. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have set foot in a place I’d never heard of. The parking lot was noisy, with cars coming and going and blasting music until 4am. People wandered around the property, and guests kept slamming doors as they came and went all night. The rooms were filthy and outdated. One bed hadn’t been changed and was covered in hair and sweat stains, including the pillows, so I had to sleep in the other bed. Its horrible mattress seemed to be from 2004. It was soft and saggy enough to leave my back stiff, and the box spring was ripped. What kind of motel keeps a mattress for 13 years? The air conditioner was very noisy, cracked, missing cover pieces, and looked at least 20 years old. There were candy wrappers inside and graffiti on the side. The old, dirty curtains wouldn’t stay closed. The shower head looked like it was from 1980 and was practically coming out of the wall. The bathtub’s anti-slip guard was completely worn out, and there were cigarette stains on the tub and toilet seat. The only reason I’m giving this one star is the mini fridge had a freezer on top.

The carpet and toilet were clean, but there was no breakfast. I didn’t want to sleep directly on the bed because it had a lot of hair, so I covered it with towels first. The TV channels were limited, and without a channel guide it took a while to figure them out. Otherwise, the place was okay.
