We were visiting our daughter in Portland, and she wanted a weekend near the ocean. On weekends other hotels jack their prices way up, but Sandy Cove was reasonably priced. It's a short walk to the beach, with lovely golden sunsets, and the promenade starts down this street toward the surf. A minimart and restaurant are across the road, and downtown Seaside is less than a five-minute drive. It was quiet and quaint, away from downtown noise. Our room had a 60s theme, with a brightly remodeled interior, a painted mural, and lighting effects from the era. Cher and Bono were on the mural, and the psychedelic look had me expecting Austin Powers to pop in. The older building is no-frills, but the bathroom was remodeled and had the usual amenities and a full set of towels. I met the owners at checkout. They were sweethearts, clearly proud of the place and attentive to it. I'm a happy camper and will probably return when we want the beach and good vibrations!

The location is great for walking to tidepools, surfers, the painted rock beach, the 1865 grave of the unknown sailor, and the Lewis and Clark Salt Works. Sandy Cove is two blocks from the beach and Promenade, in a quieter part of Seaside. The rooms are quiet and clean, each with its own theme. We've stayed at Sandy Cove Inn several times and have always felt welcome. Damon usually checks us in and reminds dog owners not to leave their pets alone in the room. A reportedly well-behaved dog once chewed through the bathroom drywall trying to escape, so bring your own crate or borrow one. It's one of the last privately owned hotels in town, and you can see the care put into the property and guest experience. Our stays have always gone smoothly, and we'll keep coming back.

The pet welcome was lovely. My pup got a little goody bag with a bowl shaped like a red solo cup, a small dog towel, a treat, and a poop bag. The office also has larger dog towels, dog blankets, beach towels, champagne and glasses, and board games. They even offered a list of the best restaurants in town for clam chowder, pizza, burgers, Mexican food, and more, with notes on which places are vegetarian or vegan friendly. Damon checked me in and was super nice. This family-owned Inn is cozy and quiet, and it's clear they value their guests. My room had a charming, well-done 1920’s Seaside theme. I was thoroughly impressed by the hospitality!

The cozy, comfortable rooms made for a really inviting stay. This family-owned inn is in a great spot, just steps from the beach and charming coffee shops.

We had a lovely room with two queen beds, decorated with artwork and unique touches. A supermarket is right across the street, and the beach is just a 4-5 minute walk away. The owner and staff were great, sharing top restaurant picks, local events, and a Seaside magazine, and they even provided beach towels. Great value for the price, highly recommend!
