Motel 6 Seattle, WA - Sea-Tac Airport South

We stayed only one night, but it was the best part of our time around Seattle and SeaTac. The early-morning front desk clerk, I believe her name is Alisha, though I’m not sure I’ve spelled it right, was top tier. She greeted us right away, checked us in very early for free, and upgraded us to two beds, which helped with our tall 19-year-old and dog. She was so helpful, and we’ll come back to this location. Thanks, Alisha, for making us comfortable and happy.

Mariah at the front desk was really nice and checked me in smoothly. The room was very clean. I had a great stay for my two nights, and I’d recommend it for a short visit.

The shower had perfect water heat and pressure in both rooms. The front office women were very nice, too. We stayed two nights in different rooms because we hadn’t planned our days properly, which was on us. It was the cheapest hotel both nights, but the room quality changed between floors. The first night’s room was clean and had few problems. On the second night, in a first-floor room, it wasn’t as clean, and I somehow got a towel with a lipstick kiss stain on it. Gross. There were plenty of dog owners who didn’t pick up after their pets in the dog area, which was really unpleasant, and there weren’t any poop bags. I could pay the deposit by card the first night, but the next night they asked for cash, which was a bummer. Luckily there was an ATM in the lobby. Oddly handy, they also had a frozen-food vending machine there.

There wasn’t a proper place for my pet to go to the bathroom. The grass areas had signs saying no poo or pee, and the only spot was behind the parking lot by a fire hydrant, covered with large dog poop. That’s not sanitary. A pet-friendly place should at least provide and clean an area for pets. I stayed one night with my dog as a service member, and I was glad they could accommodate us. But the $100 cash deposit for the pet was concerning. It wasn’t mentioned on the official Motel 6 website where I booked, and I worried they might keep it for damage that was already in the room. The rooms were outdated, and much of the furniture and other areas were beat up. I took photos just in case. I also found it strange that I was charged again for the room, which I understood had already been charged through the Motel 6 website. The front desk staff were nice, and the price was good, but the deposit and possible duplicate charge have me worried about my finances. If these concerns affect a service member like me, they may worry other guests too.
