Front Row Bed and Breakfast

We stayed in the Marathon room, which looked out toward the mountains. The house is a lovely place to relax, read, or watch people go by. The kitchen is huge, with a very comfortable seating area. The bathroom was a little small, but private, spotless, and updated. Our room was very spacious, and staff communication was easy to follow, with clear directions in each room. For breakfast, you can cook in the kitchen or head across the street for a made-to-order meal. The sourdough waffles were so yummy, and we also had breakfast potatoes, eggs, bacon, and sausage. Coffee, tea, juice, and water were available too. I’d happily stay here again.

A real highlight was watching humpback whales feed in the morning while we enjoyed coffee. Breakfast had lots of choices, including made-to-order options, and the location was perfect, within walking distance of many restaurants. This was our first bed and breakfast stay, and we were pleasantly surprised. The manager sent detailed check-in information and greeted us when we arrived. The house was quiet and welcoming, and the owner took time to tell us about the area and where to eat. Our room was comfortable and peaceful. We’ll definitely stay here again on a future visit.

We stayed in Bear's Den, a cozy one-bedroom efficiency with a spectacular view. I booked in January for mid-May and heard from the owners right away. Sarah, the manager, was very helpful and gracious. Breakfast was excellent.

My wife noticed a bad odor, though I couldn’t find the source until our second day. There was a bowl of food in the microwave with mold on it. The next morning she still smelled something bad, and we found the oven in the same condition. The place needs better quality control from its in-house cleaning service. Otherwise, the stay was fair.
