The view is lovely, but it can’t compensate for service this bad. Three of our four dishes came out wrong, including shrimp served to a vegan. The manager offered to comp the meal, but all I wanted was the food we’d actually ordered. The bartender, manager, and waiter all seemed incompetent, and the manager’s apology didn’t lead to any effort to put things right. We came for lunch with another couple in mid-October. Our waiter forgot to submit the order for 25 minutes, then seemed flummoxed when I asked about it. I’d visited under the previous ownership and hoped new management might be less arrogant and provide a better meal, but nothing has changed. Don’t be fooled by the view. Avoid the Pridwin Hotel restaurant.

The Pridwin was a 12 out of 10 for us. The hotel was top notch, the service was excellent, and the food was great. There was so much to do, and we enjoyed every minute.

Not luxury. The location is lovely and the hotel is pretty, and the restaurant is good. But it seems understaffed and under managed, so service is slow. The room was just okay. The bed felt like sleeping on the floor, the pillows were flimsy, and the AC made a distracting noise. We’re here over a rainy Memorial Day weekend with our 10 year old and there’s nothing to do. It would probably be nice in good weather.

We’ve been coming to the Pridwin for years, and it keeps getting better. We just spent a few wonderful days there for my wife’s birthday. The food and service were great, and manager Ramon was incredibly attentive and made sure our stay felt perfect. It’s the small touches that really stay with you: lemon ice by the pool, Madeline’” cookies at the front desk, yoga on the lawn, fresh flowers, eggs from the onsite farm, and the evening campfires. We also enjoyed the spa, sauna, steam room, and live music. Boat captains Joe and Josh were outstanding nautical tour guides. Highly recommend the Pridwin, and we can’t wait to return.

The property is beautiful, and the food was excellent. The bartender was fantastic too. But the operations and hospitality didn’t match the price. Everyone we met was nice, though many seemed a bit lost. The hotel needs a 24/7 front desk, and the people behind this renovation seem to have invested much more in decor and ambience than in service, operations, and staff training. I met with the manager halfway through our stay about our rocky arrival and the problems that followed. He said he’d get back to me, but I’m still waiting after checkout. I’d like to return if the hotel can deliver the experience its rates promise. Our reservation was for a cottage, but around 7 PM we learned we’d been reassigned to a room in the main building. After a five hour drive in Memorial Day traffic, the front desk greeted us with, “Oh boy we have an issue.” It set the tone for what followed: the usual startup kinks, plus gaps in hospitality. At 11 pm on our first night, room service loudly knocked and woke us with food we hadn’t ordered. We couldn’t get back to sleep. The manager number we called went to the cellphone of a man who no longer worked at the Pridwin. The restaurant was hard to run smoothly. Staff were learning the POS system and menu as we ordered. One day my wife ordered a tuna burger at the bar, got her drink and utensils there, but the burger was mistakenly sent to our cabin. She waited 45 minutes, then spoke to a manager before she got it. They also tried to charge us for both burgers. Cleaning routines were an issue as well. At 7am, three vacuum cleaners were running in the dining area while coffee was being put out. There were no wipes or spray for gym equipment. When my wife asked for a wipe for her mat, she was told to use a dry towel. That felt like a health hazard.
