Residence Inn Sioux Falls

The location is convenient for exploring Sioux Falls, but the condition of the place left me wishing we'd picked somewhere else. The rooms smell of mildew and curry, and there's a toilet that keeps running, damp feeling sheets, and air like a wet basement. My husband is disabled, so months ago I reserved and paid extra for an accessible room for both of us. After traveling over eight hours, we arrived ready to relax, expecting the comforts associated with the Marriott name, only to be told they'd overbooked and had no accessible rooms left. The new manager first said there had been booking mistakes, then suggested the other guests might have arrived before us. When I asked if they'd reserved accessible rooms, she said maybe they'd booked before me. Online bookings don't offer unavailable rooms, do they? They apologized for the “inconvenience,” but offered no adjustment to the amount I'd paid, Marriott points, or anything similar.

The bed was very firm, and the toilet ran constantly. The toilet and shower area was tiny. I also asked through the app for an extra blanket and pillows but got no response, and the digital key wasn't working yet. We were running very late, so I called hoping to speed up check-in. The place was clean and decent, with nothing especially good or bad, but everything felt mediocre and merely serviceable. I expected more from a Marriott.

The location is convenient, and the staff are friendly. Breakfast was good too, though the chairs in the breakfast area are worn out. The hotel needs renovation, especially the furniture and bathrooms.

Pretty good in most ways, but the noise carries everywhere. I could hear conversations through the door gaps and what seemed like paper thin walls, both in my room and wherever I went. The other annoyance was having just two washers in the guest laundry for a hotel with more than 100 rooms. Everything else was great.
