Super 8 by Wyndham Spokane/West

It’s a quiet, low-key spot with a great breakfast. I love the mini waffles, lol, and the ladies and guys at the front desk are great. The frustrating part is that every time we stay, we seem to get the same room, One1Four. It’s always on the ground floor, which is nice, but it’s the only room without a window screen. We can’t open the window and relax without bugs, other critters, or creepy people trying creepy things when we aren’t paying attention. My husband also noticed the other rooms have mini fridges, while ours doesn’t. Please put in a screen and a mini refrigerator, and then it’d be good to go.

After we woke up, we found bed bugs in the room. The hotel gave us a refund, hopefully because we had booked through a third party. The staff were nice to deal with and the hotel seemed clean, but finding bed bugs was upsetting. I hope they address it.

We stay at this Super 8 every time we travel from the Oregon Coast to Montana. It’s affordable and well maintained, close to I-90 in Medical Lake, just west of Spokane. The breakfast entrees are great, and the room amenities are good too.

What a disappointing stay. The bed and pillows were awful, and noise came through the door and window as if they were paper. I could hear conversations, vehicles, and planes. I nearly complained to Wyndham because this has to be one of the more run-down hotels under the brand. I should’ve left after waiting ten minutes for anyone to appear at the desk. I asked whether the hot tub worked because I was sore after driving over 800 miles. They said yes, and that it was open until midnight. But the pool room was dirty, there were no clean towels, and I saw what looked like mold along the bottom of the walls. The hot tub controls didn’t work and the water was only lukewarm. I also saw what I thought might be black mold forming on some walls. I left and took a scalding shower, worried that if they weren’t dealing with mold, they probably weren’t testing and treating the water either. On the way downstairs, I’d also passed a half-naked guy wandering the halls. Don’t stay here. Spend the money on somewhere nicer, like the Best Western down the road.
