Dogwood Park Inn

Don't book here. The rooms cost twice as much as other hotels in the area for half the quality. I found two cockroaches over two days, and management offered to spray for bugs. I asked for a refund for the day since checkout is at 11 a.m. and I reported it at 2 p.m., but they refused. The showers only had lukewarm water, and they don't clean the rooms daily.

This is the worst place we've ever stayed. The room was dirty and nasty, and the smell hit you as soon as you walked in. Nothing was clean, yet they still charge a cleaning fee.

The owner was extremely nice and honest, and the girl who cleaned the rooms did a good job. She looked cute bundled up in all her winter clothes. The rooms could use some work, but mine wasn't horrible, and my socks stayed pretty clean walking around, which is always a plus. Prices are about the same as other places in the area, and I got my $50.00 deposit back, which was nice.

The bathroom and fridge were very clean, and the fridge actually froze the ice pack I put in it. The last place I stayed couldn't freeze one, even with the fridge turned all the way up. I got my deposit back at checkout without any trouble. We stayed two nights, and the place was decent overall. I didn't know beforehand that pets weren't allowed or that there was a $50 deposit, though that may be my fault for skimming the website. Since the cancellation fee was $64, we decided to stay instead of looking elsewhere. My main complaint is the room door only had a handle key lock, with no bolt or chain.
