The only upside was that there was no pet fee. Room 104, the pet-friendly room we stayed in, was gross and smelled of sewage, cat urine, and cigarettes. The chair was shredded, the towels and bedding were stained, and the hairdryer didn’t work. For the quality, it was overpriced and not worth it.

Larry at Red Roof Inn does a great job helping the hotel feel safe. He’s a great guy with a down-to-earth personality. Breakfast was at the right temperature, and everyone was nice and respectful. Room 321 could use a little TLC in an area that might’ve been overlooked. Overall, I’d say five stars.

At checkout I told the front desk about the cat spray on the wall and got a “sorry,” and that was all. We were exhausted when we arrived and thought we might be imagining the stink, but in the morning we saw yellow spatter on the white bathroom wall. It’s the first hotel room I’ve ever stayed in with cat spray. Absolutely gross. The place was run down and dingy and smelled off. The bathroom sink was clogged and drained badly, noise from other rooms came through even with the aircon fan running, and the fridge sat in a tray that stopped its door from opening. But paying $100 to sleep in cat piss was the deal breaker. Never again.

The breakfast was decent, and the staff were nice. It’s a clean, pretty basic place, though the rooms feel a little dated.
