The Lodge in Springfield

We had to leave and find somewhere else to sleep after coming back around 9:30 PM to a room that was over 85 degrees. There were no controls for each room, just one temperature for everyone, and the fan the front desk gave us would only move the hot air around. We checked out and were told we wouldn’t be charged, but when I checked the next morning, the money was still gone and there was no refund request. Almost a week later, we still hadn’t been refunded. We drove around looking for another place, heard “No rooms at the Inn” several times, and eventually found a nice room at the Days Inn. So we paid $60 at Travelodge without even showering there, then another $75 at Days Inn. It was an expensive lesson, and it was late, we were tired, and we still had to find somewhere we could actually sleep. We’d made an online reservation, which apparently caused trouble with the staff. We’d already checked in, put our things in the room, and cleaned up a bit before going to see the sites. They should tell people there’s no way to control the room temperature. I’m very dissatisfied, and angry that we were told we wouldn’t be charged but were charged anyway. I will never stay at a Travelodge again.

The restaurant breakfast was excellent, and we got a discount for staying at the hotel. The bar was really nice too, with awesome service. Our room ran a little warm, but it was a very nice stay.

It’s an older place, but it was very clean. The staff were courteous and the price was right.
