The beach is right outside the rooms, with clear water and a sandy bottom. It was too cold for a proper swim, but I waded in up to my knees. There are lounge chairs on the sand, a deck above it, plus two grills and seating for dinner. The rooms are small, clean, and practical, with a fridge, microwave, and flat screen with Direct TV. Breakfast was plentiful, with both hot and cold choices, and the staff were all so friendly and ready to help. I only booked one night for the price, then stayed three more because I loved the place. On that first night I saw the Aurora Borealis for the first time, an incredible, once in a lifetime kind of sight. Nothing fancy, just a little gem.

If being near the beach is your priority, this could work, but I don't understand the price for what you get. I booked through Chase travel and hadn't realized it was a two level roadside motel, with doors opening straight outside instead of onto an interior hallway. Our door faced the road, so we heard every car, truck, and motorcycle on Traverse City's main road. I expected we might see the bay, but our room had no water view, though some others may. The rooms seemed fairly new and were clean, but ours was very small and had a slight cigarette smell.

The staff were fantastic and really accommodating, and the place was spotless. Our room was comfortable, with AC that worked great. Breakfast was better than I expected. Being right on the beach and close to downtown made this a perfect summer location. I can't wait to return, and I'd highly recommend it.

The view was breathtaking, and our room was clean. The staff and breakfast were great too. We had a wonderful stay and I'll absolutely be back.

We'd happily stay again. The place is right on the lake, with a small beach, and the rooms were newly renovated. Ours was small but clean and a great price. The people were very nice. My one suggestion is to improve breakfast. When we came down, almost everything was gone.
