I really appreciate how patient and welcoming the staff are with guests. They're respectful and professional, and when something comes up in a room, they respond right away to sort it out. Budget Inn in Troy Ohio is the best motel, and I feel the stay is well worth the money. They stay on top of everything. To me, this motel deserves five stars all around. I hope it stays fully booked, and I don't think guests will be disappointed. The quality and satisfaction are five-star.

Everyone on staff was friendly and made me feel like family. Michelle was especially helpful, going out of her way to assist me with my walker and other things. I have a handicap, and they were very accommodating. The motel was clean and very reasonably priced. It's the best motel I've stayed at in a long time, and I'll keep it in mind for future trips. 🙂

There's nonstop drama involving residents and staff, including domestic abuse, verbal threats, harassment, questionable sexual activity, and severe substance abuse. I experienced repeated lying and vicious threats from manager Michelle. The management gets upset and kicks people out if they call police during emergencies involving anyone, even children. I believe that violates guests' civil rights. The owners don't seem to care and appear proud of the situation. Good people should stay away, and I would not bring children here. I'm a spiritual, Godly corporate legal trainer. The lack of room phones may be connected to this, I don't know. Emergency access to a phone matters, especially for guests without a working cell phone. Hotels should make sure guests can call 911 directly and that the front desk is notified, as described in hospitality industry resources and Kari's Law guidance for multi-line phone systems. Guests generally have a reasonable expectation of privacy in their rooms and should be able to contact emergency services if they feel unsafe or believe a crime has occurred. Hotels also have a duty to keep guests safe. Some jurisdictions have laws protecting direct access to emergency services. Preventing someone from calling 911 when there's a legitimate emergency could amount to obstruction or interference with reporting a crime. If the reason is discriminatory, it could violate civil rights. If a guest is harmed after a manager blocks a call for help, the hotel might face negligence or duty-of-care claims. If this happens, calmly state that you need to contact emergency services. Call law enforcement from your cell if necessary, and write down the date, time, manager's name, what was said, and why you needed help. Take photos or video if possible. You can also file a complaint with a chain's corporate office or a consumer protection agency, and consider legal advice if you suffered harm or loss. A hotel manager has no legal right to stop a guest from contacting emergency services, and doing so could have serious legal consequences for the hotel and its management. You're welcome 😊

The new managers have put real work into making this place safer and more family-friendly, and the improvement is clear. The room was clean, quiet, comfortable, and a great deal for someone traveling on a budget. I had driven eight hours after being up all night, so it meant a lot that my reserved room was ready when I arrived. They let me check in without waiting for a set time, and I could get some rest before the long drive home the next day. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the housekeeper had done a great job. Customer service was great. This has always been my first choice when I come back to my hometown, and with the new management I'll stay here every visit. Thanks to everyone at the Budget Inn for the comfortable room and warm welcome.

Hi, this is Tonya Marie Dotson. I don't trust Budget Inn because Michelle, the hotel or motel manager, is incredibly rude. My cat died in the bathtub, either on Wednesday February 19th 2025 or Thursday February 20th 2025. I don't know what time it happened. They could have called my cousin Brooke, but instead they told my payee, who then called to tell me. The only person there I like is Makayla, on the night shift and sometimes the day shift. When I wasn't there, Makayla would go interact with my cat. A huge thank you to her for helping me and spending time with my cat.
