We stayed five nights while visiting relatives. The room was good, and the bed and pillows were really comfortable. At arrival, the receptionist was helpful and tried to upgrade us, but couldn’t unless we switched rooms for the final night. Breakfast was the usual fare for an American motel of this standard: scrambled eggs, sausage, potatoes, waffles, cereal, and similar items. We were at the back, near the post office department, and the clinking and clanking started quite early. Hot water also ran out on our last morning, so I couldn’t shower. That’s why I gave it a three, even though the other parts of the stay were a four. The weather wasn’t great, so I can’t comment on the pool or outdoor area. There are good restaurants and bars within about two miles. I’d check the prices and compare before booking, but this was the best deal at the time.

I was wary after seeing some of the bad reviews, but my company booked four nights here and I’m glad it did. Best western must have made some changes, because the place has been great. The room is clean and roomy, with a big bed and kitchenette, and the bathroom is clean too. The pool and cafe are right outside. My work crew and I work nights, so we were concerned about daytime noise while sleeping. I slept like a baby, and everyone else must still be asleep too. There’s a complimentary drink at the 6 o’clock social hour each night and free breakfast in the morning. There’s also a barbecue area and small patios with tables and chairs. Nice weather, clean, quiet. Can’t ask for much more.

The breakfast at PJ's restaurant was a highlight, with tasty hot sausage, eggs and potatoes, plus muffins, drinks, waffles and fruit. We got tickets at check-in but were never asked to hand them over. The layout was unusual, almost like a college campus, with about six buildings arranged around a central restaurant and pool. There were grilling areas too. Our room felt more like a small apartment, with a little kitchen area, wet bar, heating plate, sofa lounger, table/desk, TV, microwave and fridge. The closet had sliding glass doors, though they barely slid. The bathroom had a good exhaust fan, which I appreciated, but the heat lamp didn’t work. It’s a little north of Tucson, which suited us since we were headed to Oracle. We’d stay here again.

I was extremely disappointed. The place is basically a remodeled apartment complex, so don’t be fooled. You have to drive around to your building, then carry your luggage up the stairs. My room smelled musty, and I could hear other people talking as they walked along the balcony outside my window. I called corporate with my concerns, but they brushed them off. People answering the phone said the property manager was always too busy to talk to me. This was only my second stay at a Best Western, and I won’t try one again. Very disappointing.

Patrick and the rest of the staff gave amazing service, really going above and beyond. The room itself was a letdown, though. It was noisy overall, and some parts felt cheap. The shower’s hot water came and went, and the spa jets were broken. I liked the location and the amenities. Breakfast was free but very crowded, though the waffles were good, and the complimentary happy-hour drink was a nice touch. A real mixed bag, but the customer service was top notch.
