Studio 6 Vicksburg, MS - Downtown

The rooms were renovated with modern, clean furniture, and the kitchenette was the best equipped we've seen in a budget hotel: plates, bowls, mugs, cutlery, and even kitchen towels. It's a shame the rest of the property was so neglected. Cockroaches were all over the place, including in our room, and the elevator and outside hallway were filthy and stained. There were washing machines available, but we wouldn't risk washing our clothes there. All of that made the stay uncomfortable despite the clean, modern, well-equipped room.

On our first day, I nearly used a towel with what looked like a blood stain on it. I noticed just before washing with it, dropped it, and got a clean one. I took the stained towel downstairs, thinking they'd throw it out. The next day, I got the very same towel again. I brought it back to the same woman and pointed out it was the one from the day before. She put it aside to be washed and given out again instead of discarding it, even though it looked like it had blood on it. Nasty. She went into the back and shut the door. I'll report this in reviews and post the pictures. I should've been a private investigator for the Health Department. This place is beyond gross. Don't stay here for any reason.

The beds are hard, and smoke comes from the bathroom so badly it could kill you. We got a bloody towel twice because it wasn't thrown away and kept going back into circulation. A big knife fell off the top shelf onto my family member. It's nasty, dangerous, a health hazard, and they won't fix it. Don't come here.

We had a quiet night in a clean room with the new design, on the top floor overlooking historic Vicksburg. We could see the Mississippi at sunset and hear nice church bells from the next-door bell tower. Reception staff were helpful, and the location is central. The room had a nearly full-size fridge with freezer, microwave, toaster, silverware, and cutting board, though no ceramic plates, cups, or bowls. There's no lobby coffee, but there is a coffee machine in the room. Parking behind the building is free on two levels.
